Gym time with his new buddy

Here is Hudson's attire for the cruise next month - the ladies on the ship better watch out!

Apparently Hudson found a buddy to share his gym with while I was brushing my teeth this morning. He has really started to notice the dogs this week and laughs hysterically when he sees Tanner retrieve the ball.

They had a different idea of how to take a bath this morning.

The "Spirited" child

We have learned this week in the book, The Baby Whisperer, recommended by my friends, Nick, Liz and Stella, that Hudson falls into the baby personality of "spirited" - always alert, verbal (day and night in his sleep), very curious, a fiesty eater (which explains his constant gas issue), and a catnapper who is too afraid to miss out on anything. Since we get this look, followed by a smile, when we lay him in his crib for naptime, we have learned to remove ALL objects of color or suddenly his tired eyes turn into these and he grins and kicks when he sees his animal friends on his mobile! The smile is pretty unresistable though and often makes us laugh no matter how hard we try not to!

Hudson found a new favorite toy this week called the Jumparoo. At first he just sat in it looking around mesmerized, but once he figured out how to make it move, he burns off some of that energy. He LOVES it. His tip toes barely touch the ground, but not for long we are sure!

This weekend we enjoyed the summer weather and took some walks around some local Sidewalk Sales to buy some new swimsuits for the cruise next month. Hudson got a new shark wetsuit to wear. He is pretty excited.

The boys in the their polos......although one is completed covered by drool!

Fun in the sun

We have been hanging outside a lot this week. Hudson LOVES being outside talking to the trees and trying to eat the grass - he must be learning that from the dogs. He is getting good already at getting everything in his mouth. We are wondering if a tooth is going to peek through soon since he is drooling so much and chewing on everything. He is a pretty happy guy these days talking all of the time! He is getting his crying down when he wants something too - he starts fussing and as soon as we come over he grins and kicks his feet!

Trip to Columbia, MO

This past week, Hudson and I went to Columbia, MO for to meet my sister Samantha and mom for her orientation to MU! It was fun to be back in Columbia - it is hard to believe how much has changed since I graduated. The new Rec Center is amazing with an outdoor pool, spa and huge hot tubs and a HUGE workout facility. Maybe I would have actually worked out in college if that existed then! We went to Flatbranch, one of my favorite places to eat, for dinner.
Hudson did GREAT in the car - sleeping both ways which made for a very pleasant trip!

Sam with her friends, Danny and Liz, who will also be attending MU. We attended the Summer Welcome revue in the evening in Jesse Auditorium and Hudson enjoyed watching the skits that the leaders put on. We didn't hear a peep out of him, until right in between the skits, he let out a huge sneeze and had many people cracking up. I was just thankful it wasn't one of his large belches or toots, which he has been known to do.

Some family pictures from Samantha's graduation

3 months old!!!

We cannot believe that Hudson is three months old! This past weekend, I worked to cover the hospital while much of my department was at the National Conference. It was hard to be away from him but nice to know that Nana and John were home taking care of him. I think by the end of the weekend, everyone was tired!
Hudson is so much fun now - always smiling and giggling. He is starting to be able to reach and hold onto things and cracks up every time he actually gets a hold of something! He is also rubbing his eyes now when he is tired!

Hudson had his first date last week with baby Ainsley. Although after about two minutes on the walk, they slept through most of it. We are looking forward to them being friends soon though.

The first road trip to St Louis

This past week, we took our first road trip to St Louis for my sister, Samantha's high school graduation. Hard to believe as I attend my 10 year reunion this year, my sister is graduating!!! We had a great week visiting with the family including my aunt Sis and my cousins Allison and Marlena from Florida. Hudson also got to meet my brother, Uncle Evan and his girlfriend Lyndi for the for first time.
While in St Louis, we also got to meet baby Alejandro! He is the son of one of my best friends from high school, Mark, and his wife Yanela. Here they are with hats my mom made for him. Hopefully Alejandro will be a better fan of it this winter.....

The face Hudson makes when mom makes him dress up for the camera.....

Hudson with Grandpa Chuck

Before John got into town, grandpa Chuck had to make sure he wore his Red Sox attire. He is looking forward to the day Hudson is big enough to go to a game at Fenway.

Hudson did GREAT in the car, sleeping most of the way to St Louis and back. Here we are at a stop for him to eat.
Check back for a video of bathtime with Nana, one of Hudson's favorite things to do in St Louis and for some graduation pictures.

Memorial Day weekend with the Walter's

We had some more visitors over Memorial Day to Kansas City. John's brother, Pete, his wife Jane and three children - Trey, Ethan and Whitney came to visit us. We had fun shopping and hanging out with them. Unfortunatly, their car broke down while they were here and they had to get a rental car to get back to Colorado. But the good news is that the car got fixed and we will get it back to them sometime this summer.
