6 months old!

We have had a busy week! Last Thursday, Hudson had his 6 month check. Where has time gone? He checked out great though. He is 18 lbs, 12 oz and 27 inches which put him at about the 75th % for both. He is so close to crawling but still determined he can get to his toys (or plastic bags, dog toys or the coffee table) faster by rolling there, then scooting the rest of the way. His mouth stays open continuously when we feed him his new favorite foods of the week - nectarines, yogurt and avocado. And, we see a tooth sprouting! Poor guy has had a rough week between his ear infections, shots and now a tooth! And on top of that, I took him to the church nursery today while I went to a mom's group. Apparently he didn't like being left and they had to call someone else in the nursery because he was crying! My mom says it is payback for the way I used to cry when I got dropped off at preschool. Of course, when I came in he was smiling and giggling - he has them all fooled! I think that was mostly our fault for keeping him up so late last night when we went to his first Royals game with our friends! We also had a special visit last weekend from Grandpa Chuck. Hudson would get excited every time he heard Grandpa come in the room and say his name....his new favorite play buddy. Tommorrow we are going to our first community play group so we are looking forward to that! Here are a few pictures.

Kierstin's walk!
This past weekend, my mom, John, Hudson and I participated in a walk to raise funds for Tuberous Sclerosis. Our special friend, Kierstin, was born with TS. You can read more about Kierstin at her website: www.caringbridge.org/visit/kierstindublinske. I worked with her amazing mom, Amy, at Children's Mercy. It was a beautiful day for the walk and great to participate in such a good cause. More than 600 people participated in the walk and raised over $40,000!
Nana and dad also hung a swing for Hudson in our backyard which we have been enjoying all week. He really likes it and constantly searches for a part to put his mouth on. At least the sprinkler cleans it each day, right?
Hudson this week has an ear infection in both ears and has had a rough time sleeping so we are all a little tired down here. So the poor thing has to go to the doctor two days in a row - Thursday we go for his 6 month check up! Hopefully he will be on the upswing.

Labor Day at the Lake
We just returned from a wonderful weekend, with our friends Todd and Ali and Todd's parents at their new lake house on Lake of the Ozarks! We had a wonderful time and also got to see Dana and John so that was fun too. Here are some pictures and some other random ones from the past few weeks.
Hudson's new favorite trick is to make himself cough. He concentrates really hard. This started when I was imitating him coughing and he thought it was just hilarious. Then he figured out how to make himself do it!
