June 2012

We have had a very fun month of June. Days have been full of swimming, ice cream, sprinklers, parks,  Madagascar 3, celebrating Father's Day, puppet shows, crafts, and some rest too....
Mr. "I don't need naps anymore"

Enjoying a pool side bridal shower for one of Hudson's teachers.

Hudson started swimming lessons with his friend Ainsley this month and has progressed so much in just two lessons, thanks to a very special swim teacher.

The little ones trying to get in on the lesson too:)

Hudson still isn't a fan of going under water but is doing much better. He swam the length of the pool and got his first $2 bill from his teacher. He was so proud and called dad as soon as we got into the car.

Hudson shopping at Trader Joe's with his list of pictured items he made me  make him.

We also made it down the the Ozarks with Dana and Jeremy for  a weekend and had a great time. We spent a long time at the pools on Saturday then went to a bar for some afternoon appetizers. They had very loud karaoke and Jack slept through the entire thing. It was a fun relaxing getaway.

We took Hudson to do go karts and Jack wasn't big enough to ride along and had a huge meltdown. This is the only smile of the night when he was on this ride we found inside. He cried for about 30 minutes to go on those fast race cars. Poor thing. Ice cream afterwards did help a little!

It has been about 100 degrees here the past week so we have spent much of the day in water. They love the sprinklers.

We found this lion costume in the basement and Jack is obsessed. He calls himself "Alex" from Madagascar and is usually seen crawling and roaring around the house.

The boys loved craft/story time at Reading Reptile and Jack did pretty well keeping up with the big kids. We also made it to a puppet show with Nana and they both really enjoyed it. Summer is so fun!  I just hope it slows down!

Vacation Bible Camp

The week after our trip we jumped right into summer with a week of Vacation Bible Camp! I was worried it would be a bit long for Jack in the afternoon so I volunteered in his class with 14 2-year-olds. It was an adventure with many of them missing nap time but they did pretty well. Jack was surprisingly shy with me in his class and mostly wanted to stay close but he had fun playing with the kids. He loved the music time and quickly memorized the songs. He was so cute closing his eyes during prayer time and repeating the words. Hudson had so much fun in his class and already is talking about going back next year.

VBC wore him out!

Making crafts.

Ice cream for snack. Yum.

California/Disneyland

We started off June with a wonderful trip to California with Nana, Evan and Lyndi, Dana and Sam. We had a blast. Hudson continues to ask why we live in Kansas City and not in California:). Here are just a   few photos from the trip.

Sam's friend took some family photos along a beautiful beach for us.

Spoiled all week by the aunts.

The fun started on the shuttle bus to the airport. They were so excited to ride a bus "without a carseat".

Newport Beach

Elmo's Flying Fish ride at Sea World

Meeting Shamu!

We enjoyed many bike rides.

Our first day at Disneyland. It was a blast!

Jack LOVED the parade.

Hudson was so excited to meet Buzz.
