Big brothers

Meet our baby SISTER coming in May 2012. We were shocked, but excited nonetheless to learn the sex of this baby.

Nana and the boys made a great dinner and some treats for after our ultrasound.

The boys have been pretty funny since they found out a baby is on the way. Hudson has been asking for months "When are we going to get a baby?" If you asked him if he wanted a brother or sister, he would mention he wanted a sister because he already has a brother. Typical Hudson response! Hudson loves to know how big the baby is each week and compare it to a veggie or fruit.

Jack's first response was a little different when we told him the news. First he said, "I don't "wike" crying babies.  I want 5 doggies."Then he proceeded to hit me with a stuffed Shamu doll and told me he was going to hit the baby. We have some work to do over the next six months!

He has warmed up a bit since though and asks multiple times a day when that baby is going to come out. The other day he was hitting my knee with a play hammer. I asked him what he was doing and he replied that he was making a hole to get that baby out!

"Jake" in full costume for breakfast

Hudson came home from school one day with this. Clearly they push the school book fair in elementary school!

We have had some beautiful fall like days in November that qualify for afternoon ice cream.

Mr. I'm Not Tired

We went to Powerplay with Pa and Dana and Jack insisted on riding the Tilt-a-Whirl. He is a wild little man.

Hudson got to drive a go kart for the first time. He was extremely careful and so proud!

"Mom, take my picture!" He sure loves Tanner and often lays with her on the chair.

Jack had his 3 year old checkup and loved seeing Dr. Waters. He "did not like  that nurse lady" who gave him shots, but did really well with them.

I gave Jack a bottle of clear nail polish one day to keep him busy while I got ready.

Brother joined in on the fun.

Thanksgiving costume from school.

Visiting Daddy at work.

Jack painting his hand at a new craft studio for kids.

Chocolate milk and cookie bribery while Hudson gets a haircut.

Celebrating Thanksgiving with dessert with Nana. Nana made Hudson a homemade apple pie at his request complete with little people cutouts including baby #3!

The Woody costume has made another appearance.

He was very proud of his I Voted sticker and very excited to get a free bagel at Einsteins!

"Captain Hook" carried around my mixer accessories for days.

Jack's 3rd Birthday!

Look who is THREE! Jack had a great day and loved telling everyone he saw, whether he knew them or not, that it was his "birfday" and that he was "free years old...almost 5 like my brother, Hudson!".

Nana gave him a belt holder for the plastic toy kitchen knife he has been obsessed with for weeks now, along with his "magic wand" which is a part from his bicycle. He immediately put it on and ran around like Captain Hook.

The pirate helping put together his new barn from Nana.

Nana made him a Madagascar cake, at his request.

He loved his Jake and the Neverland Pirate toys Hudson picked out for him. Hudson worked extra hard shopping all morning while he was out of school including about 3 Targets to find all of the toys in the set.

More animals from Aunt Sam!

SEA LIFE Aquarium

On the weekend before Jack's birthday, we took a trip with Nana to the new KC aquarium. We hadn't been before and had a great time. The boys really enjoyed it. Hudson especially enjoyed the figuring out the quiz questions throughout.

That evening they boys spent the night at Nana's while John and I celebrated our anniversary. We all had a great time and are so thankful they have a Nana in town to spend these special nights with.
