Pa visits KC!

We were so excited Pa made it over for a weekend visit. We all had a great time with him.

After the Cards big win this past week, we had to play some baseball! We have been so fortunate to have such great weather this month.

Pa taught Jack to pound his fist and say "yeah, baby" so he does it repeatedly and cracks himself up.

A Friday at home

We had a pajama morning Friday and it was so nice to be a little lazy. We are usually rushing out the door to school or somewhere else in the morning so the boys were excited to be home and play with toys in the morning. Hudson still loves his cars and plays with them all day long.

Hudson had a really great parent teacher conference this past week. He has one of the most fantastic teachers I have ever met. According to Miss Amy Sue, Hudson is excelling in academics, but more importantly she stressed the compassion and kindness he gives to the other kids in his class, many of which have special needs (Hudson is a peer model). She said he gets just as excited as they get when they achieve something new and is the first to help them if someone needs something. He is still developing some social skills but she gave us ways to encourage his growth and he has already shown big strides over the past 2 months.

This past week, the mother of another classmate stopped me to tell me how excited her little girl gets when she asks if she is ready to go to school to play with Hudson. When I was telling him this story, he replies, I wish "Stephanie" said that! She is clearly his BFF right now and we might even go to say "first crush".

Hudson also asked us how to spell "DVD" this week. When he started to sound it out, he realized quickly how to spell it and got so excited he had figured it out. Ha. I guess that is a good first step to spelling!

Hudson's first field trip

Hudson had his first field trip this week with school. His preschool went to the pumpkin patch which made for Hudson's third visit to a patch this month. Needless to say, we have a few extra pumpkins to spare if you need one. Hudson was so excited to go but got pretty shy around his school friends and stayed with me the whole time.

Sam is in town from CA so she and Nana came along.

Jack's favorite place to ride

Of course, Jack was so excited to see all of the animals.

How Hudson walked through the pig barn

Hudson with his school. He was clearly very excited about taking a class photo!

the ZOO!

We took a trip to the zoo last weekend while John had to do some work. Hudson had a blast playing with this interactive train all made from recyclable materials you could make music with.

Watching the OCD polar bear make the same lap around the pool over and over again!

Jack was so excited to see his favorite zoo animal up close and personal!

Jack loved the animals and Hudson loved the maps and train:).

October fun

Enjoying our daily walks after getting the mail on an 86 degree day in October!
Here is a little Halloween preview because it is too cute not to post.....

One day this month we got to spend the day  with our friends Max and Ainsley and  had so much fun!

They made and decorated some sugar cookies. Well Hudson and Ainsley decorated, while Jack and Max mostly taste tested:).

Buddies on the couch
While I put the little ones down for a nap, I came downstairs to find these two like this on the couch together.

The boys hard at work in the kitchen.

Our future model? Jack is at the stage where he strips down and  goes about his business everywhere but on the toilet. We may be investing in some duct tape for the diapers if it continues!
