Preparing to Sail!

This week we had Hudson's Four Month check up! He did really well. He continues to top the chart but is still on it at least (well, besides his HEAD which is over 97%). I think that is the nice way of saying off the chart! He weighs almost 17 lbs (80th percentile) and has grown 3 inches in the last two months to 26 inches (90%). I had to laugh when Dr. Waters was in there for a good 10 minutes before he realized he was there for his 4 month check up and not 6 month check up! Maybe he should have looked at his birthdate before coming in! Hudson even impressed him by rolling over both directions on the exam table for him! He flirted with the nurse too by cooing and giggling at her, well that is before she gave him 4 shots. But he did really well with his shots and didn't even react until the fourth one. Although his leg was covered in numbing cream from me which had pretty much spread all over his leg by the time his shots came because he was moving around so much!
He is still a ball of fun and really happy guy. As the pictures show he is finally growing in some more hair to make up for the major hair loss the past few weeks and add to the thick curl on top of his head ans slight mullet in the back!
After our trip, we will be starting the solid foods (i.e. soupy rice)! We are very excited about that. He is getting ready, John swears he wanted some pizza last night as he stared him down and drooled the whole time he ate! He is taking an interest in us eating, sitting up pretty well and scarfing down so we think he is ready. He gets so excited now when it is time for milk and I can imagine what his excitement will be for the "real" stuff.
The exciting news is that on Sat we leave for Orlando to head on the Carribean Cruise! We will be gone 8 nights and somehow Hudson's bag is bigger than either of ours yet his clothes are still pretty small! But we are ready for a vacation and thrilled to have some family time.

Have a great week!

A weekend with Grandpa and Great-Grandma

Hudson taking a bath in the sink
Hudson and Grandpa at his new favorite place, Cold Stone Ice Cream!

Great Grandma came for a visit this weekend all of the way from Detroit to meet her first grandchild. She snuck Hudson a taste of his first food besides milk....ice cream. He loved it - sucking on his lip the rest of his night looking for any missed spots....I think he will take after his mom's sweet tooth.

Hudson tried out his new backpack that Nana bought him. He loved it so much he fell asleep in it while Grandpa was carrying him on a walk through Brookside.

Some play time on their backs. Tanner still tries to get Hudson to throw the ball for her. She is very persistent!

The first trip to Colorado

We just returned from a weekend in Colorado visiting John's family in Ovid and my Evan and Lyndi in Denver. We went to "Ovid Days" over the weekend and watched the softball tourney, games for the kids.
We had a great time touring the city with Evan and Lyndi. We did lots of walking since I wouldn't let Hudson ride on the new moped!

Hudson on his first plane ride! He slept the whole way.......

Hudson loved laughing at his cousin Brandon. Brandon loves his new cousin - he even shares his toy tractors and numerous times tried to share his food!

The new toy - he loves his toes! He loved laying on the grass listening to the band play but eventually got tired and slept through the rest of the show.

Video is working

So, I thought I finally learned how to download a video to the blog, but apparently something didn't work. But I think it is working now! Let me know if you still have trouble viewing it!

The first dip in the pool

We just returned from a weekend in St Louis relaxing in the Martoia pool. Here is Hudson and Aunt Samantha, who just returned from her trip to Greece. And she doesn't understand why all those Greek boys were so nice to her:)
Hudson and Nana who babysat so we could get some more pool time in.

Hudson's first trip in the pool. He loved it, of course. There isn't much this kid doesn't like. He is such a happy, easygoing guy. Well, until he gets hungry! And yes, my baby has darker skin than me, pathetic I know but I am working on it!
