Fall is here!

Hudson has become great pals with the dogs....not sure they are always such a fan of him but they are always very gentle. He just cracks himself up playing ball with them.
His new favorite game to play is "see what fits in the air vents".....I am sure whoever cleans these vents next will get all sorts of surprises. He continues to be really active, running from morning till naptime, then again when he wakes up. He is a ball of fun though and keeps us very entertained! He is talking a bit more with his new favorite word now being "acker" for cracker and his favorite sign being "please". It seems to work well cause it is hard to refuse anything he wants when he has those serious, big eyes looking at you, with his head nodding up and down and his hand rubbing his chest for "please".
We have been staying busy this summer. We love to play at Wonderscope. Hudson and Ainsley love to share snacks. They always trade :) We are starting some fun fall activities too. His is going to Mother's Day Out a few times a month and I am not sure who is more excited about that:) We are also doing Kindermusik again and Hudson is going to be a peer model for a playgroup with some 1 year old deaf/hard of hearing children.

He LOVES the swing. He will stay in there for hours if we let him....and sometimes we do:)

New York, New York

I am finally getting around to another post. Time has been flying. Hudson is now 17 months old! He has learned all sorts of new tricks lately, some from his Nana who stayed with him last weekend while John and I spent a weekend alone in New York. I think we all had a great time! Here are some updates on Hudson. He is quite a climber these days. I found him in the kitchen the other day. He found a snack cup, got on the chair and filled his cup with cheese-its....yes, he takes after his father. His is obsessed with shoes (everyone's) and keys. He loves to try to put keys in the door, grab a bag and wave goodbye to us and close himself between the real door and the glass door. Keys are a great toy till they take a swim in the dog bowl or toilet (two other obsessions). Nana taught him to "scare" her by raising his hands above his head and making a loud "roar". He gets a kick out of it. He also loves to chase Tanner with his corn popper and cracks up when she runs away after getting run over....poor thing. He loves to sit on Pilgrim and watch Elmo but Pilgrim has learned to escape quickly.

New York was a blast. We did lots of sightseeing, saw a Broadway show, ate some great food, and made it to Yankee's stadium before it gets torn down this year....we were lucky enough to be at the 13 inning game against the Royals.

Here is an old video of some dancing....sorry it is sideways:)

my first fingerpainting session

Things went pretty well until we were so tempted to taste it....if only fingerpaint was blueberry and strawberry flavored!!!

feeding my friends...

My new favorite spot to read my books
Blowing on Clayton's belly!
I got to spend an afternoon at Nicole's house this week and see Addie and also meet my friend Tessa! Tessa's mom and my mom were roommates in college.
We became the best of friends quickly over a bowl of goldfish.
I gave Clayton a big kiss while he sat in my book basket!

baby dolls and cars.....

We have been busy, busy lately so we are a bit behind on the posts. Last weekend, Hudson spent the weekend with Daddy while Mom went to St Louis for Lyndi's (Evan's fiance) bridal showers and bachelorette party. Things went really well at home, despite a little fever Hudson had. Dad even managed to clean up the house which was a nice surprise! Then Nana and Aunt Dana came back for a visit. Hudson was very excited to see us although Nana was certainly the favorite around here. Hudson would reach for her no matter who was holding him (me, John or Dana!). He learned some new tricks while she was here. He would try and push her to the ground for just one more airplane ride. He loved to bring her shoes over and try and put them on so she could take him outside. He would nod his head up and down to hear her sing the "duck" song one more time.

Another thing he has been doing is lifting up people's shirts to blow on their belly's (so far, no strangers:). He also loves to try and carry dad's briefcase and try to go out the front door, waving bye-bye. His favorite toys today (this changes often) are his baby doll and cars. He loves to say "vrroommm" when he pushes them along. He has always LOVED babies and still greets his friends with a kiss and a hug. He still really likes music and gets so excited to dance.

We have been having lots of fun this summer and enjoy all the toddler activities. We spend lots of time at the local parks, pools and splashgrounds, and love the local children's museum, Wonderscope, which is in the pictures below. We also have a great children's bookstore up the street with a nice play area and get to see some storytime's and concerts there too! Here are some pictures.....

Playing on the porch with Gage.
Daddy's very jealous that Hudson got to drive a LandRover.

Hudson had a great time playing with Nana, Dana and the hose in the backyard....if only he could keep the hose from spraying onto his face! Not going to fit in here much longer....

the Fourth in Colorado

We just returned from a wonderful 4th of July weekend in Colorado. We flew to Denver and got to see Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi then drove up to Ovid to visit John's family.

Hudson's first ride in the tractor. We thought he would love it since he seems to love all things that move...
Turns out he likes watching them on the street better than being in them!
Sitting with cousin Annika.

Swinging at the park by Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi's new condo downtown

Swinging with cousin Ethan. Ethan had Hudson belly laughing many times throughout the weekend.
Hudson playing the same piano that his dad played many years ago. Hudson LOVES little chairs. He would clap for himself each time he got up too - pretty proud of his music skills. He is really into music now and after he wakes up he points to his CD player so he can dance away.
In front of Daddy's corn field. Uncle Pete is doing a good job growing the corn.

Hudson has been such a good traveler this summer despite many long plane and car rides. The "cousins" helping Hudson open his new toy from Aunt Liz.

Here comes trouble....

Apparently, Hudson got a little bored while I was brushing my teeth the other day.......he found a tub of Eucerin cream.
