Thanksgiving 2010

We had a great time hosting Thanksgiving this year and enjoyed celebrating it at home. We have so much to be thankful for and enjoyed visiting with some special family and friends throughout the weekend.
Making turkey placemats for everyone with Aunt Sam

Jack loves eating with a fork but already showing his independence by insisting on poking the food himself. He will take it off if you do it for him!

Helping Daddy get the Turkey ready.

Checking on the turkey in the oven. He continues his obsession with oven mitts!

Hudson has discovered making faces at the camera now.

A preview of family photos.....

Fun in the leaves

Sporting his new KU birthday outfit from Nana. Don't worry, he did get a MU sleeper from Aunt Sam.

Jack's favorite toys right now are utensils and he is obsessed with the oven mitt. Not sure what this might mean for his future.

12 month check up

Jack had his 12 month check up last week and was 25 lbs and 30 inches. He has slowed down a bit and actually weighs exactly what Hudson did at his age, but is a little shorter. There was a time I thought for sure Jack was going to be a 30 lb one year old. I guess his climbing skills are burning some calories.

He sure is a funny little guy and was such a ham at the doctor's office. He was waving at everyone and laughed and giggled as he played with Dr. Water's. He has learned to shake his  head "no" especially when I offer him a food that he doesn't want. He is completely the opposite of Hudson and prefers the "main dish" to fruit in any meal.

Jack has lost some rolls since 7 months!

Party Animal

The past few nights, Jack has gone to bed at 8pm then become wide awake at about 10:30pm. He is switching to one nap, or should I say, mom is switching him to one nap and apparently he thinks this is his second nap? Whatever it is, it is not cool, and I keep trying to remind myself everything is a phase, right?? But we did get some cute photos of him sharing some crackers with Daddy.

Jack's Birthday Part II

This past weekend we had some family and a few friends over for a Cat in the Hat party for Jack. It was an unusually warm but perfect November day! Despite no nap for the day, Jack had so much fun as long as he was held by me or John. The kids enjoyed bouncing in the bounce house outside and chasing Hudson around in attempts to get him to share his collection of Buzz Lightyears. Amazingly, only one Buzz did not survive the party after a ride down the slide!
Nana helped TONS with the decorations and food and we were so thankful.

Jack was more concerned about getting out of his high chair to be held again, than eating his cupcake. Is he really my son? :)

Jack's birthday Part 1!

Hudson picked out a new toy for Jack and was so excited to give it to him. He wrapped it and had fun "writing" on it with some help.

Unwrapping the paper was just as fun as the toy.

Everytime the balls started popping Jack would dance and get so excited. I think Hudson picked a good one year old toy and quite possibly the only toddler toy we don't already own...ha!
