Almost spring

We have been so lucky with a few nice days this week and the kids can't get enough of being outside.
Getting the mower ready for the season with bubbles

The boys watched the neighbor kids jump for an hour I swear. They did go over later and jump. Jack loved it as long as no one "touched" him. The older neighbor girls love to try to pick him up and baby him but he was not having it and would scream if they came near him. Then they told him that the 2 year old down the street has a crush on him. Girls. They are too funny. We learned more than we ever needed to know about Justin Beiber that night :).

Why use a door to get in the car when you can climb right over.

Our first pop sickle.

Pizza with Pa

We had so much fun this weekend with Pa and town and the boys ate up the attention.
It didn't take long for Jack to warm up to Pa as he hadn't seen him in a few months. He brought over his favorite animal book and sat up on his lap to show off his animal sounds.

Pa teaching Hudson how to color in the lines. He did pretty well!

After the party, we hit up Waldo Pizza. Yum! Hudson had a plate full of pepperoni pizza along with a side of pepperoni from the salad bar. He and Pa share the love of pepperoni!

Jack was in hog heaven with the salad bar toppings. We sure got our money's worth that meal as he was "free". He ate about three plates of peas, black olives, mushrooms, eggs, shredded cheese and tomatoes. The child eating habits get stranger and stranger every day. He is slowly warming up to fruit though and loves grapefruit.

He even reached onto my plate to grab some romaine lettuce. Like I said, he is strange!

And even more strange then the salad bar toppings...crayons

and candy wrappers.

The belly following the buffet.

Hudson's birthday party

Last weekend, we ended Hudson's birthday celebration "week" with a birthday party with his friends at Reading Reptile, a children's bookstore in Brookside.
Hudson and his friend, Clayton. I love that they are making the same sound effects with their toys.
 .
When we lived in Brookside and Hudson was one year old, we used to walk to this bookstore to play in this little play area in front. He is much bigger now!

We were so happy Pa came in town for the weekend.

They started the party with a birthday story. The kids listened to every word this woman said.  I want her tricks!

Then they started making playdough. And Ainsley and Kate started planning playdates. The little conversations these kiddos had were hilarious!

The boys making "snakes".

Painting egg cartons

"Blowing up" play dough volcanoes. They loved this!

Decorating cupcakes. Hudson was so excited to see gummy bears.

About half way through the Happy Birthday song, Hudson realized they were singing to him and he got a little embarrassed!

Jack stayed with Nana during the party which is why there were actually books on the bookshelf at the end of the party.
All the kids had so much fun when Hudson was opening gifts. They loved giving the gift they had picked out and even asked to come over to play with it. Four year olds are pretty funny!

Hudson turns 4!!!!

It is so hard to believe that this little boy is now 4 years old today!  I think the time goes faster and faster each year. Hudson has a week full of celebrating this year that started at his preschool birthday party last Thursday. Nana made sugar cookies in the shape of a "4" with each child's name on them and they kids loved finding their "name" at the table. The kids each made Hudson a Happy Birthday page that the teacher's put into a book for him and he held onto that book all day long he was so excited!

Then on Sunday, Nana stayed with Jack while he napped, and John and I took Hudson to swim at Coco Key Water Resort and we had a great time. Hudson started out avoiding all of the sprayers to get wet and did not want to do any of the bigger water slides. Then after he watched us do some, he was going down the slides all by himself and in line with all the kids waiting for the huge water pail to dump.

After swimming, we all went to dinner at Hudson's request to get "cheese dip" at the Mexican place by Costco and Sonic...not the "new" one we tried a few weeks ago. So we did. Then we came home for a small birthday party with a cake made by Nana with Dora as Hudson requested.

Opening up a Pooh movie from Nana and Buzz Operation from Aunt Sam.
Someone climbing on the table to get a closer look and taste of the cake.
After bring removed from the table
Blowing out "HUDSON" and a "4" candle.

Playing Operation with Daddy
And Nana
Cheese dip and chicken nuggets and fries.
Some new magnetic blocks. He played with these all afternoon today making a house for many Buzz Lightyear's and garages for his Cars.
Once again Jack is on the table

St Patrick's Day parade

Saturday we had a beautiful day and we headed over to the old stomping ground of Brookside to meet Nana for the St Patrick's Day parade.
Hudson was very excited to bring along his Toy Story chair.

Jack feeding goldfish to Nana. I am pretty sure that was his lunch that day.
Jack was most interested in the dogs that came to the parade.
Jack's new trick....talented,  huh?

playdate with Max

We had so much fun with our friend Max one morning while his mom was at the dentist. Hudson was so excited he could "talk" and these two played together all morning long.
Apparently he was was so worn out from "babysitting" he needed a 3 hour nap which hasn't happened in MONTHS. When did he get so big?? He looks huge on this chair! Only a few more days till this little guy turns 4!
