the ZOO!

We took a trip to the zoo last weekend while John had to do some work. Hudson had a blast playing with this interactive train all made from recyclable materials you could make music with.

Watching the OCD polar bear make the same lap around the pool over and over again!

Jack was so excited to see his favorite zoo animal up close and personal!

Jack loved the animals and Hudson loved the maps and train:).

October fun

Enjoying our daily walks after getting the mail on an 86 degree day in October!
Here is a little Halloween preview because it is too cute not to post.....

One day this month we got to spend the day  with our friends Max and Ainsley and  had so much fun!

They made and decorated some sugar cookies. Well Hudson and Ainsley decorated, while Jack and Max mostly taste tested:).

Buddies on the couch
While I put the little ones down for a nap, I came downstairs to find these two like this on the couch together.

The boys hard at work in the kitchen.

Our future model? Jack is at the stage where he strips down and  goes about his business everywhere but on the toilet. We may be investing in some duct tape for the diapers if it continues!

Johnson Farms Pumpkin Patch

We also made our annual family trip to Johnson Farms Pumpkin Patch this weekend and had a great time. We have been going here since I was pregnant with Hudson and it is fun watching the boys enjoying different things each year as they get older.

Hudson LOVED the mazes.

And Jack LOVED the animals.

KC Pumpkin Patch

Nana had a day off last week so we took advantage of the nice (nearly hot) weather and took the boys to KC Pumpkin Patch. We had a great time. It was so nice going during the week as we had the place nearly to ourselves.
When Nana is around, Jack refuses to let me hold him or help with with anything.  He loves his Nana and even  sometimes wakes up from nap asking for "Nana, see you".

Hudson was excited he could pedal these tricycles by himself this year!

This water pump with the animals was one of their favorite things .

Sept randoms

Just a few pics from last month that I wanted to post:). So Hudson has started a Christmas list.Yes, this is a September post.  He is really into writing letters and spelling and is constantly asking, "Mom, how do you spell _____?". His new spelling skills have now enabled him to tape these papers for me around the house. I have no idea what he didn't want to do this time, but this was the note he taped to the door in the kitchen.

Hudson's favorite toys right now are Sidley, the airplane from Cars 2, and the new Cars characters. Sidley often sleeps in his bed and if he doesn't, Hudson runs to find him as soon as he wakes up. He didn't care to much for the "scary" movie when he first saw it but he loves the toys. He keeps telling us he will like it when he is a little bit older. He also is obsessed with this youtube.com channel of this guy who collects Cars toys and spends entirely too much time talking about the detail of each one so now Hudson let's us know which of his toys are "true die cast" and which ones have "custom paint jobs".
This first pumpkin purchase of the year from Nana on a field trip to Nana's favorite flower store.

Hudson sporting his new sweatshirt with his name on it. We randomly found it at Gap and he loves it. Although he hasn't had much of a chance to wear it since it is still in the 80s in October but we aren't complaining!

Snack time on the sun porch.

We also purchased the new release of Dumbo and the boys both love it. Jack loves the baby animals  and Hudson giggles out loud each time Dumbo flies. We have to fast forward a few inappropriate or "scary" parts but it is nice having a movie they both agree on! These two play together as much as they can when they are both home. Hudson loves to "read" books to Jack and they plop down wherever they are.
Jack loves tractors and pushes them around making tractor noises all day long. His little  animals Nana bought him usually ride in the back.
