My BIG weekend!!!

We just finished up a wonderful weekend. Family drove many miles combined and many of our friends showed up to help us celebrate two special events. Grandma Della, Kelly, Aunt Liz, Uncle Pete and Aunt Jane and cousins Trey, Ethan, Whitney, Brandon and Annika came all of the way from Colorado, and Nana, Grandpa Chuck, Aunt Dana, Uncle John and Aunt Samantha came from St Louis.

On Saturday, we had Hudson Andrew baptized. He didn't even cry when the pastor took him and was making the whole congregation giggle with his curious little face with the water coming down his face! Luckily, it didn't get in his eyes since his Aunt/Godmother Dana thought he needed some hair gel to hold up his curls!!!

Then on Sunday, we celebrated the little guy's birthday and boy did we all have fun! We went to a local pizza shop as that is one of his favorite foods. Little did he know he would get to experience his own little cake when he was done. He had a blast digging into his cake and couldn't decide if it was more fun to smash it on his face, eat it, share it with his friends, clap his hands with it, or dump it on the floor! He then had a mini bath in the bathroom sink with Nana and Aunt Sammy and enjoyed it equally as much!!!

We were so lucky to celebrate these milestones with all of our favorite people and family and friends and thank you all so much for making the hike to Kansas City!!! We did learn one thing this weekend though....the house is getting a bit small for the growing family so we put the "sign" up in the yard this weekend. We are sad already about having to leave this community, but look forward to a bit more space, maybe our own garage and bigger closets!!!

Here is a slideshow from the weekend - I couldn't pick just a few cute photos so I thought I could post more this way. Enjoy!!!

Birthday pictures

Here are some pictures from Hudson's official birthday! We had his check up yesterday and Hudson weighs 25 lbs (80th percent) and 31 1/2 inches (90th percent)!!! The dr was very suprised with his growth as he gained 5 lbs in 3 months! He said it was an unusual time for a growth spurt but on his chart he actually jumped back up to where he was from birth to 9 months.
This is where the hands go when he takes his first steps.
A picture before Nana watched Hudson while we enjoyed an awesome dinner at Capitol Grille on the Plaza - thans Nana!
One of his favorite buddies....
He loves walks in his new stroller! We have had a couple of nice spring like days to get outside.
A favorite toy....
He has found a new facination with door knobs and cord plugs. He loves to pull plugs out and try to get them back in....so I guess we are off to buy more outlet covers!

Happy Birthday, Hudson!!!

Today is Hudson's first birthday! He started the big day with some pictures at Lea's (which we will post soon). We spent some time outside today in the great weather taking a walk and on the swing in the back yard. The most exciting part of the day was when Hudson put his arms straight in the air and managed a good 5-6 steps. He was very excited about this new thing he did, but we had a hard time getting him to repeat it for the camera. I am sure we will get it later. Hudson is spending the night with Nana and might get a special walk for ice cream while his mom and dad enjoy a nice dinner on the Plaza to celebrate Hudson's birthday and his new job. Thanks Nana for babysitting! Here are some pictures from Hudson's "birth" day a year ago.....it is so hard to believe it has been a year!!!!

Almost one year!!!!

More AAAAHHH monster face photos. He loves to play UNDER the coffee table and even ducks to the ground to be sure not to hit his head...well it doesn't always work. Of course the socks are more often in his hand then on his toes....luckily spring is around the corner!
After a few months with only 5 teeth, a 6th one came through this week. It hasn't really stopped him from eating as we all know though. This kid can eat a WHOLE kids meal - from mexican restaurants and even from Panera. It looks like we will be ordering adult size portions before he turns 2!

Hudson's highlight of the week was inheriting my old cell phone....I think he figured out if he got enough slobber in there, it wouldn't work anymore and he would get to keep it!

Benjamin and Hudson "going on a hayride" at Kindermusik. This is really a great workout for us moms as it is pulling nearly 50 lbs with these 2! Notice the placement of Hudson in this picture....we had to put him in front...you'll see why in the next photo.

Poor Benjamin got his hair all slobbered with Hudson riding behind him!

This is Hudson's new trick to make mom leave Target early. He twists around, with his seat belt on and STANDS!! Then tries to pull everything out of the cart. I think his dad taught him this:)

No wonder the cell phone didn't survive Hudson's slobber!!!

Kisses for grandpa.... complete with the "awww

We are getting ready for the big 1 year birthday this week! It is hard to believe one year ago this kiddo fit inside my belly! He is doing great and amazes us each day with the new things he learns and how much he really understands. We won't be celebrating his party until the last weekend of the month. We had a great weekend with some special visitors - Grandpa Martoia and Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi came in to see us. Then later this week, Nana comes back over! And we are also so lucky to have "da-da" home this week. He took a week off in between jobs. Although he will be busy doing some stuff around the house to get it on the market, Hudson sure will be excited to spend the week with him and I am sure will be a big helper!

ready for spring!

Hudson is getting very close to walking, but so far, sticking with mainly crawling. He loves to "crack" himself up making him laugh which is so funny. He put quite a show on for Nana when she visited last week showing her all his new tricks. He would giggle each time he saw her so excited to play with her. He tried whipped cream in the picture above....big hit. So now we have him and all the dogs begging for it! We are doing some major house cleaning and organizing hoping to get it on the market soon. This comes with big mixed emotions as we love our little house and area, but it is time to move on! John will also be starting a new job in a few weeks. He is leaving the firm to take an in house position with CVR (an oil company).
