baby dolls and cars.....

We have been busy, busy lately so we are a bit behind on the posts. Last weekend, Hudson spent the weekend with Daddy while Mom went to St Louis for Lyndi's (Evan's fiance) bridal showers and bachelorette party. Things went really well at home, despite a little fever Hudson had. Dad even managed to clean up the house which was a nice surprise! Then Nana and Aunt Dana came back for a visit. Hudson was very excited to see us although Nana was certainly the favorite around here. Hudson would reach for her no matter who was holding him (me, John or Dana!). He learned some new tricks while she was here. He would try and push her to the ground for just one more airplane ride. He loved to bring her shoes over and try and put them on so she could take him outside. He would nod his head up and down to hear her sing the "duck" song one more time.

Another thing he has been doing is lifting up people's shirts to blow on their belly's (so far, no strangers:). He also loves to try and carry dad's briefcase and try to go out the front door, waving bye-bye. His favorite toys today (this changes often) are his baby doll and cars. He loves to say "vrroommm" when he pushes them along. He has always LOVED babies and still greets his friends with a kiss and a hug. He still really likes music and gets so excited to dance.

We have been having lots of fun this summer and enjoy all the toddler activities. We spend lots of time at the local parks, pools and splashgrounds, and love the local children's museum, Wonderscope, which is in the pictures below. We also have a great children's bookstore up the street with a nice play area and get to see some storytime's and concerts there too! Here are some pictures.....

Daddy's very jealous that Hudson got to drive a LandRover.

Hudson had a great time playing with Nana, Dana and the hose in the backyard....if only he could keep the hose from spraying onto his face! Not going to fit in here much longer....

the Fourth in Colorado

We just returned from a wonderful 4th of July weekend in Colorado. We flew to Denver and got to see Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi then drove up to Ovid to visit John's family.

Hudson's first ride in the tractor. We thought he would love it since he seems to love all things that move...
Turns out he likes watching them on the street better than being in them!
Sitting with cousin Annika.

Swinging at the park by Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi's new condo downtown

Swinging with cousin Ethan. Ethan had Hudson belly laughing many times throughout the weekend.
Hudson playing the same piano that his dad played many years ago. Hudson LOVES little chairs. He would clap for himself each time he got up too - pretty proud of his music skills. He is really into music now and after he wakes up he points to his CD player so he can dance away.
In front of Daddy's corn field. Uncle Pete is doing a good job growing the corn.

Hudson has been such a good traveler this summer despite many long plane and car rides. The "cousins" helping Hudson open his new toy from Aunt Liz.

Summertime

We have been spending much of the summer so far outside. When we are inside, Hudson just points to the door and nods his head to go back out.
This has been the new face of the week. He loves to scrunch up his nose. He also learned to "nod" no. Although it is very cute now, we are probably going to wish soon that he would only know how to nod "yes"!

At the Deanna Rose children's farm with playgrou- smelling the flowers with Sophia.
Pulling Clayton's hat off....he doesn't like anyone, including himself, to wear hats.

They have become great playmates this past week now that Hudson has learned to throw the ball....

A fun park date with Ainsley in her cute, little cherry outfit made by her grandma.

15 months old!

Here are some updates of what Mr. Hudson has been up to. He turned 15 months this past weekend. We had a nice father's day yesterday. Hudson and his daddy both got I-Pod's (one is an Elmo one) for Father's Day this past weekend and they both spent most of the rainy day playing with their new toys....
Hudson has mastered the baby sign for "eat" and giggles with excitement when it gets him more food. After his normal breakfast of a banana, waffle and yogurt, he ate two piece of toasts mid morning!! He still eats like a champ. His favorites now are still cheese and fruit. Now he nods his head up and down for "more" as soon as he sees berries going in the grocery cart. His favorite game is hide-and-seek - one he learned from Nana. He loves to peek around corners to see where you are. Then he tries so hard to run as you chase him away. He also loves piggy back rides on daddy's back and holds on to his shirt and nods his head up and down when he is ready to go.
This is pretty much what he walks around with all day - the corn popper and new "I-Pod". Although he regularly points to the door and nods his head up and down to play outside so we spend the nice weather days out there.
Anything that resembles a phone goes up to the ear.... Oh, and he also knows to had the Costco card to the cashier when we check out. We just aren't sure who he is learning this stuff from :)
The other favorite toy....his drumstick. The same drumstick that broke the glass window pane but he loves it too much to take it away. He turns his musical table on then grabs the drumstick and drum to bang away.
