Hudson turns 4!!!!

It is so hard to believe that this little boy is now 4 years old today!  I think the time goes faster and faster each year. Hudson has a week full of celebrating this year that started at his preschool birthday party last Thursday. Nana made sugar cookies in the shape of a "4" with each child's name on them and they kids loved finding their "name" at the table. The kids each made Hudson a Happy Birthday page that the teacher's put into a book for him and he held onto that book all day long he was so excited!

Then on Sunday, Nana stayed with Jack while he napped, and John and I took Hudson to swim at Coco Key Water Resort and we had a great time. Hudson started out avoiding all of the sprayers to get wet and did not want to do any of the bigger water slides. Then after he watched us do some, he was going down the slides all by himself and in line with all the kids waiting for the huge water pail to dump.

After swimming, we all went to dinner at Hudson's request to get "cheese dip" at the Mexican place by Costco and Sonic...not the "new" one we tried a few weeks ago. So we did. Then we came home for a small birthday party with a cake made by Nana with Dora as Hudson requested.

Someone climbing on the table to get a closer look and taste of the cake.

Blowing out "HUDSON" and a "4" candle.

Playing Operation with Daddy
And Nana
Cheese dip and chicken nuggets and fries.
Some new magnetic blocks. He played with these all afternoon today making a house for many Buzz Lightyear's and garages for his Cars.
Once again Jack is on the table

St Patrick's Day parade

Saturday we had a beautiful day and we headed over to the old stomping ground of Brookside to meet Nana for the St Patrick's Day parade.
Hudson was very excited to bring along his Toy Story chair.

Jack feeding goldfish to Nana. I am pretty sure that was his lunch that day.
Jack was most interested in the dogs that came to the parade.
Jack's new trick....talented,  huh?

playdate with Max

We had so much fun with our friend Max one morning while his mom was at the dentist. Hudson was so excited he could "talk" and these two played together all morning long.
Apparently he was was so worn out from "babysitting" he needed a 3 hour nap which hasn't happened in MONTHS. When did he get so big?? He looks huge on this chair! Only a few more days till this little guy turns 4!

Jack is 16 months old!

It is hard to believe this baby is turning into a little boy so quickly. This is what he is up to this month.
* He loves the big boy slides at the park and has no fear going down them. He says "weee" all the way down. If he falls at the end, it cracks him up. He can now play with Hudson in the play land at Chick-Fil-A which is a big deal since we go there way too often!
* He now can get himself down for a nap. Yes, it took 16 months to get there but better late then never, right? We are still working on bedtime!
* He will pretty much only eat eggs or steel cut oats with me for breakfast. He loves spinach and goat cheese omelettes. High maintenance but at least it is healthy I suppose.
*His favorite word is "yeah" and will respond with it to any question. Hudson loves to take advantage of this if I tell him "no" to something, Hudson will ask Jack a question to get that response.  He also loves to say "hot", "ball" and all of the animal sounds. He loves animal sounds and can do most of the common ones. He gets so excited if we spot a bird or dog outside. He will love Deanna Rose this summer.
*His favorite books are "Goodnight Moon" and "Moo, Baa, La La La"
*He loves to make animal noises. His favorite is to roar like a lion, but he also knows "moo" for cow and "baa" for sheep and "ruff" for dog.
*He is wearing mainly 18 month with some 24 month as well. He wears a size 6 shoe and size 4 diaper.
*He loves to wave goodbye and kiss (with sounds effects)  goodnight. He hugs your neck really tight when he hugs. If he gets sad about something or hurt, he will run over and hug you as well.

Tantrums which are actually cute right now

Jack loves stacking cups right now
And pouring cups. So much fun.

Feeding Tanner with a spoon nonetheless

He also loves to carry wet washcloths.
Making sure he got every last bit of chicken spaghetti off the plate.
Jack's new favorite hiding spot - under the guest room desk with diaper in hand. He fooled us one as we all went on a search around the house to find him!

Bed head

Jack's new favorite game is to jump off the ottoman and say "Weeee...". This child is such a daredevil and will free fall whether you are ready or not.

I took the boys swimming yesterday for the first time this year alone and they had a blast. Hudson did great in the water and I think after a few swim lessons will be pretty independent in no time. Jack was a wild man and would throw his head back in the water to get his hair wet. He wanted no help while he was walking in the water either. He went under a few times and just laughed about it when he would come up. This child is going to be crazy! They had so much fun though and Jack just kept shaking his head "no" at me when it was time to leave.
Jack's morning hair-do. Yes, it is long enough to probably do pig tails and braid but I just can't cut the curls just yet. He continually gets asked in public how old "she" despite his tractor blue shirt. It is probably time.

The boys new favorite activity is to watch morning cartoons for the day and they have already starting fighting over which one it will be. Jack starts doing the "Hot dog dance" for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while Hudson wants to watch Special Agent Oso.

Loose Park

We had two really nice days this week and took advantage by going to the park both days. Here are a few pictures of "Nana's park" because now it is by Nana's house! Hudson doesn't remember that was the park we used to walk to when we lived in Brookside until he was about 18 months old.

I was not expecting Jack to be such a wild man at the park. The kid just follows Hudson around and goes down any slide he sees. That boy has no fear! He took a few tumbles off the end of the slides and just gets up and laughs. We are in real trouble!

 Hudson helping Jack up.

Funny that I just made a comment that Jack was slimming down because he was fitting into zipper/button pants. Look at that tummy!
