KC Zoo

We had one day this month where the high was "only" in the 90s so we spent the morning at the KC Zoo. They loved watching the chimpanzee's play.

Last T Ball game of the season for the Angry Birds

Hudson played in his last game of the season on a hot, hot July day in the afternoon. He has really improved over the few games he played and already asks about when he gets to play again so I guess it was a successful first attempt at a team sport!

The biggest fan who can't wait to be "5" so he can play baseball.

So proud of his trophy!

Kaleidoscope/Crown Center

Last week we spent the morning at Crown Center to cool off during another hot, hot day. The boys loved the art at Kaleidoscope. Jack will sit there for hours and color and paint. Hudson did some art but was more interested in the machines that dry the artwork and the puzzle cutter.

After Kaleidoscope, we went to the dinosaur exhibit and played for a long time. They loved it!

Fun on the Fourth

We had a great Fourth of July, despite the 100+ degree temps in Kansas!

Jack with some snaps. He did try to eat the first one but thankfully we caught him!

Jack's first sparkler!

Watching daddy do some fireworks

Eating a Fourth of July cake. It didn't quite turn out like the one online but thankfully these little guys didn't care!

That evening we headed over to the Leawood festival and the boys had a great time riding trains...

getting balloons - a lion for Jack,

a green dog for Hudson,

and playing in the bounce houses.

Jack wanted to try this slide alone and we didn't think he would make it up on his own but he sure did!

Hudson showed him what to do.

He made it down and was so proud!

We then played at the park waiting for the "big fireworks" to start.

Jack turned into a lion and roared at all the kids there. School for him should be interesting next year!

They LOVED the fireworks show and were troopers considering what a late night it was. It was a fun day!

June 2012

We have had a very fun month of June. Days have been full of swimming, ice cream, sprinklers, parks,  Madagascar 3, celebrating Father's Day, puppet shows, crafts, and some rest too....
Mr. "I don't need naps anymore"

Enjoying a pool side bridal shower for one of Hudson's teachers.

Hudson started swimming lessons with his friend Ainsley this month and has progressed so much in just two lessons, thanks to a very special swim teacher.

The little ones trying to get in on the lesson too:)

Hudson still isn't a fan of going under water but is doing much better. He swam the length of the pool and got his first $2 bill from his teacher. He was so proud and called dad as soon as we got into the car.

Hudson shopping at Trader Joe's with his list of pictured items he made me  make him.

We also made it down the the Ozarks with Dana and Jeremy for  a weekend and had a great time. We spent a long time at the pools on Saturday then went to a bar for some afternoon appetizers. They had very loud karaoke and Jack slept through the entire thing. It was a fun relaxing getaway.

We took Hudson to do go karts and Jack wasn't big enough to ride along and had a huge meltdown. This is the only smile of the night when he was on this ride we found inside. He cried for about 30 minutes to go on those fast race cars. Poor thing. Ice cream afterwards did help a little!

It has been about 100 degrees here the past week so we have spent much of the day in water. They love the sprinklers.

We found this lion costume in the basement and Jack is obsessed. He calls himself "Alex" from Madagascar and is usually seen crawling and roaring around the house.

The boys loved craft/story time at Reading Reptile and Jack did pretty well keeping up with the big kids. We also made it to a puppet show with Nana and they both really enjoyed it. Summer is so fun!  I just hope it slows down!
