The boys......

Hudson (4 1/2 years)
- He loves PreK! He has a fantastic group of teachers and a fun group of kids. Right now he has only 7 kids in his class so he is getting lots of extra attention. His favorite things so far have been visiting the library, being the line leader and playing in the play area with the "car wash".
- He is really interested in spelling words now and is very badly wanting to read. He can usually identify the first letter of a word by it's sound (thank you Letter Factory DVD) and is starting to sound out some words.
- He is trying really hard to tie his own shoes.
- He sings songs constantly, some that he makes up and others that he thinks he knows the words to. The boys constantly have music on the iPod going on and love to dance around.
- He loves to color pictures to send to the family. He has quite a few pen pals now and loves getting mail.
- He loves to play with Jack and often tries to sneak in Jack's room to wake him up during naptime. This does not go over very well at our house!
- He loves card games and his favorite is Old Maid. He is HILARIOUS to play with because he worries the whole game about getting the card and then he giggles uncontrollably when he has it.
-Instead of "yes, mom", he answers "aye, aye, mama!". - His favorite show is Max and Ruby and he loves to talk in single words like Max does. This drives me crazy but my mom tells me it is payback for when I insisted my name was "Gail" as a child and not "Austyn".

Jack (22 months)
- Jack is starting to memorize songs and books. Of course when you sing Old McDonald had a Farm and read the Wheels on the Bus book 1,000 times a day I suppose that will happen!
- He loves to pretend he is sleeping and snoring.
- He loves to take care of his Mickey Mouse and baby doll. He wraps them up in blankets and feeds and diapers them often.
- Jack can count to 10!
- He loves his big brother and is so sad when he goes to school. He follows Hudson everywhere and imitates everything he does. At bedtime, he runs into Hudson's room, climbs in his bed and gets under the sheets. The boys so badly want to sleep in the same room. We put a toddler bed in there as an attempt to bunk them but that has not worked out so well. We will try when Jack is a little bit older! So now each night in tears, we take him back to his room.
- He is obsessed with toothbrushes, especially ours, and so they are often missing. The monkey climbs up the bathtub to snatch them from the sink.
- He is still a funny eater. For breakfast he either eats steel cut oats with me or his favorite omelette which consists of spinach, mushrooms, peppers and goat cheese. He eats like a grown up. Now if we could only get Hudson to branch out of his fruit, cheese and bread diet he has going on:)
- His favorite phrases are "I do", "carry you" (carry me), "mine", "hey" (if you take something from him), "oops", "ummm", "Ohh",  and "Get up!".
- He will come over and hug you and say "sorry" when he does something bad.
- He says "peas", "tanks" and "tank you" (please and thanks). - He loves to announce to the world when he "toots" or "burps" by clearly identifying which one he did. He is ALL boy.

The boys love Zumba class at the gym. They are often together and holding hands when I pick them up from the gym.

Jack was pretty excited to see some familiar faces at Target today. Luckily it wasn't a very busy day there....
