Bath time "cute face"

This is Jack making his "cute face" he makes on demand. I have no idea where he got it from!

I am pretty sure his hair is longer than most girls his age!
Jack LOVES to lay back in the water over and over again.

When Daddy came in the door from work.
Helping Daddy fix Hudson's bike tire. As Hudson will report, we need to take the bike to a "bike man" as Daddy was not successful.

Popsicles with Nana

Someone spotted Nana as she came into the yard! They were both so excited that Nana was coming over. We don't get to see her as much anymore now that she has a real job!
Jack "hugging" Hudson and getting popsicle in his hair. Luckily they love taking baths as they happen daily (at least!) around here now that the weather is nice.
I think one of the boys' favorite parts of the day is after dinner when the boys can have popsicles outside. They go and eat them on the same step of the deck together.

Jack has fired me from many things around here lately and hired Hudson.

Jack then decided he needed to be on the big boy swing. Then he decided he didn't want any "help" holding on. He is 17 months going on three for sure.

A few updates on the boys:
Hudson:
*He had his four year old check up this week and weighed in at 44 lbs and was 43 inches tall which was in the 95th percentile for both! Dr Waters said he is on track to be 6'3''! Geesh I am not ready for that! He did great with his shots though but decided he needed a special treat from the gift shop on his way out;).
*He is becoming a maze whiz. He got a workbook on mazes and has been obsessed with it and is getting really good and getting them figured out.
*He can know get himself buckled in his car seat which is wonderful!

Jack:
*The big news this week is that he took his first dive out of the shopping cart at Target. If you have ever been shopping with him, you would know it was only a matter of time as he climbs out of the front seat even when he is buckled and tries to get his leg over the back of the cart. He was in the back with Hudson and next thing I know, he is on the floor. He managed somehow only to bump his lip. He cried for about a minute then ran right off. This child is danger. Surprisingly, he hasn't climbed out of his crib yet but that is probably next.
*He climbs up the ladder and goes down the slide alone in the backyard.
*He is talking up a storm and repeating many words and sounds. He puts his finger up to count 1-2-3 when he goes down the slide, puts his finger to his mouth to say "shhh" and says "beep" when he touches his nose. "Yes" is still his favorite word.
*He says "cheese" when he sees the camera.
*He points out babies and Buzz Lightyear everywhere and calls them both "Buh".
*Jack got about 8 teeth in less than 2 months. He now has a mouthful and is happy he can eat more food! He is doing better with fruit and loves grapefruit and even will eat a banana every now and then.
*He loves to bite my legs and then puts himself in time out and does a fake cry for a few minutes. Drama.
*He knows many body parts like hair, eyes, nose, belly, toes, and ears.

A weekend outside

We had beautiful weather this weekend and spent most of it outside playing and doing lots of yard work. Jack  was so excited when he saw the sprinkler spraying water everywhere. He loves water so much that if he hears me in the shower, he will come in whether his clothes are on or not.

 .
Hudson helping Jack zip up his new suit. These two played together all weekend long. Hudson even asked if he could wake up Jack while he was napping because he missed him and wanted to play with him outside.

Here is velcro boy. If he isn't with Hudson, he is attached to Daddy or Mommy. If I am in the kitchen, he will go stand below the backpack and point to it till I put him in it.

Here are the painters hard at work. They took their job seriously and painted the house with water for at least an hour.

Sunday Hudson wanted to paint so we took it outside. Thankfully the hose was nearby.

This was Toy Story shirt #5 of the day I believe.

Jack now says "cheese" for the camera

First visit of the year to Deanna Rose

After Jack thought he needed a five minute nap today, I decided to give up and took the boys to Deanna Rose for the afternoon. Jack is having nap issues this week and either takes a four hour nap or 5 minute one.

Jack loved the cows and immediately starting mooing when he saw one.

But then he met the goats and fell in love. He was hysterical to watch and fit right in with them. His mission was to pet every one of them in both some appropriate and not so appropriate places.

And then he kissed one and I was completely grossed out. Maybe instead of shooting this picture I should have pulled this little guy away before he got bit.

When I told him it was time to go he tried to pick this one out of here. No we are not bringing home a goat, Jack. I think I carried him out by his shirt directly to bathe him at the hand washing center then sprayed him with sanitizing spray. If only I could have sprayed it in his mouth. Gross.

Then just when I think he is peeking under the fence where the water basin for the goats is kept, he gets inside the pen and won't come back to me. So then I climb over the fence to retrieve him. It was not a pretty site.

Meanwhile, Hudson is happy as can be feeding them with a bottle.

"BAAA" in their faces. Close, Jack.

Hudson has tried to ride these tractors for a few years and never been big enough until this year. He was so excited.

The boys had a blast and both fell asleep on the way home. I think we will be spending a lot of time here again this year.

Royals game

We took Hudson to his first Royals game since he was a baby and we all had so much fun. John's sister and family were visiting from Colorado to go to the PBR (bull riding) show in town so they came along with us to the game.
Jack and the babysitter and their own version of the game in the backyard.

I asked Hudson what he favorite part of the game was and told me it was the snow cone. His mouth was blue for two days  after eating this!

Sliding with cousin Annika. These guys are two years apart but get along so well.

His first attempts at mini golf.

At first, he wouldn't go hit balls but after watching a few kids do it, he got right up there and hit a few balls and ran around the bases grinning ear to ear the whole time.
