First visit of the year to Deanna Rose

After Jack thought he needed a five minute nap today, I decided to give up and took the boys to Deanna Rose for the afternoon. Jack is having nap issues this week and either takes a four hour nap or 5 minute one.    

 

Jack loved the cows and immediately starting mooing when he saw one. 

But then he met the goats and fell in love. He was hysterical to watch and fit right in with them. His mission was to pet every one of them in both some appropriate and not so appropriate places. 

And then he kissed one and I was completely grossed out. Maybe instead of shooting this picture I should have pulled this little guy away before he got bit. 

When I told him it was time to go he tried to pick this one out of here. No we are not bringing home a goat, Jack. I think I carried him out by his shirt directly to bathe him at the hand washing center then sprayed him with sanitizing spray. If only I could have sprayed it in his mouth. Gross.

Then just when I think he is peeking under the fence where the water basin for the goats is kept, he gets inside the pen and won't come back to me. So then I climb over the fence to retrieve him. It was not a pretty site.

Meanwhile, Hudson is happy as can be feeding them with a bottle.

"BAAA" in their faces. Close, Jack. 

Hudson has tried to ride these tractors for a few years and never been big enough until this year. He was so excited.

The boys had a blast and both fell asleep on the way home. I think we will be spending a lot of time here again this year. 

Royals game

We took Hudson to his first Royals game since he was a baby and we all had so much fun. John's sister and family were visiting from Colorado to go to the PBR (bull riding) show in town so they came along with us to the game.

I asked Hudson what he favorite part of the game was and told me it was the snow cone. His mouth was blue for two days  after eating this!

His first attempts at mini golf.

At first, he wouldn't go hit balls but after watching a few kids do it, he got right up there and hit a few balls and ran around the bases grinning ear to ear the whole time.

Just another shopping trip at Costco. This time it was with Pa. Hudson is now an expert at self check out and Jack points to his hand when we leave so that they will give him a stamp. 

Jack loves to play tee ball.

Jimmy Johns bread. In the mouth for about an hour. Gross.

Just when I think a toddler can't surprise me, Jack pushes over the chair on his own, opens the door. He climbs into the fridge and grabs his sippy of milk. Then he looks back at me and loudly says, "AAAHHHH!"

Hudson on his date with Nana to eat pizza at Spin and then to see Toy Story on Ice. He had so much fun. His favorite parts he told me were getting to pick "two" things at the show which were Mickey popcorn and a Buzz light chaser. He also loved the part when Lotso turned Buzz into Spanish. 

Jack loves the playset. He climbs the ladder on his own and goes down by himself. If he falls at the end, he laughs. Daredevil.

A visit to Crown Center

Last week, Disney's Cars came into town to do a promotion for the new Cars 2 moving coming out this summer so I took the boys down to Crown Center to see the big Lightning McQueen and Mater cars. 

Hudson obsessed over the new Cars character there and wanted to know the name of the car. I thought the blue Car was Sally but he insisted it was not Sally. Sure enough Sally is a Porche, not a Thunderbird. He is so detail oriented, especially with cars. He points out any Nissan Murano in a parking lot to tell me it is like Nana's car and knows most of his friend's cars too. No one down there knew it so then he told me I needed to look it up on my phone. So we did and now we know "Finn" is the new star. 

After the Cars display, we ventured to the free play exhibit inside Crown Center along with every other child in the Kansas City area. It was amazing we all left together as it was mass chaos inside of a room full of mazes. Jack loves to play hide and seek so he took advantage of this and finally after losing him multiple times, I promised to bring them back another day. 

If you leave a piece of pizza on the kitchen table.....

This little monster will climb up on the table to snatch it.

Then he will make sure you are watching this naughty behavior.

If he gets caught up on the table, he usually just starts dancing. 

So if you come over any time soon, you will now know why all of our chairs are laying on their sides at our house.

What the boys did during the KU game

Clearly they were not very interested in the basketball game, but they did find ways to entertain themselves.

 Hudson opted for a basket "hat" while reading the Bible. Lots of stores in the Bible must start with "God said".

John took a bathroom break and the boys took over the remote to get Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on. Jack can now imitate the Hot Dog dance. I can think of no worse song to have stuck in your head by the way.
