Labor Day fun in Colorado

We spent an extended Labor Day weekend in Colorado and had a wonderful time. We started out flying to Denver on Thursday night. Both kids did surprisingly well considering we took an evening flight that took us well past bedtime. Hudson thought it was pretty cool to fly like "Buzz Lightyear" and was excited to drink orange juice on the flight not to mention the chocolate chip cookie. During the flight Hudson looked out the window and was excited about the "snow" he saw (clouds). When we landed, he wanted to take the plane straight to Evan and Lyndi's house. That would be a sight! Jack spent the flight trying to climb up and down and all around but did pretty well and was distracted with puffs. Thank goodness for puffs. We spent the night and Evan and Lyndi's in Denver on Thursday night and both kids were asleep in the rental car before we got to the their house.
Friday morning we drove up to Ovid to see John's family. Hudson was in hog heaven playing with all the toys, tractors and especially with his cousins. I don't think we even saw him except for meal time as he was so busy having fun with the big kids.
An attempt at a photo with Grandma Della. Jack was not in the mood for a picture!

Saturday we went to the Sedgwick County Harvest Festival. Hudson had a blast at the parade and was so proud of his full gallon sized ziploc of candy! Following the parade, the kids played games, had egg tosses, and potato sack races.

Saturday night we went to the local (only) restaurant in Ovid and Hudson for the first time, fell asleep at the table while eating his grillled cheese. He proceeded to eat while sleeping until we took it from him worried he would choke. Not much stops this kid from eating!

Jack loved being outside and teethed on a corn cob! Or as Hudson calls it, "corn on the nob".

The best family photo we could get!

On Monday, we drove back down to Denver and went to the Taste of Colorado fesitval in Denver.....yum! We had planned on going to the aquarium that afternoon but Hudson fell asleep in Jack's stroller for a few hours after eating so we decided to sit outside on 16th Street and enjoy Happy Hour! The weather was perfect! We had a great time visiting with Evan and Lyndi and Hudson enjoyed playing with their dog Macy!

Sparky and Nana picked us up from the airport. We were so thankful not to have to drag all of the gear and suitcases needed for two kids on the shuttle bus! Another reason we are so thankful for Nana! Not to mention the home cooked dinner she sent us home with....she is the best!
